Assignment: You are given the chance to make a book for all the investors of the Istanbul Biennale. What are you going to present?
This years Istanbul Biennale is especially about the transformations taking place in the city of Istanbul which set a perfect example for the rough outlines of the 21st century world we live in today. Everyone and everything has to please a global market; there is no individuality anymore. Efficiency and prestige are more important than human morals and values.
My "book" contains a silk screen print showing a skyline build up of humans in any form and shape and in any condition; Big and small, thin and thick, coloured or not. The print (originally 98 x 57 cm) is cut into pieces so the receiver can puzzle it together or build his or her own city.
